How to Get Transmission to Scrape Folder Again
I'one thousand using XBMC on RPi + Transmission-daemon with remote transmission for torrent downloads. Now I added transmission's downloads binder to XBMC's sources and that works fine and all, just is there a fashion to automatically scrap the TV Show episodes that I download there? The names are kind of weirdly formatted, like "White.Collar.S04E04.HDTV.x264-Coercion.mp4", is at that place any set up of pre-defined regular expressions that can option these upward or practise I need to ascertain my own?
The problem is that at that place may non be any consistency in the file names you acquire via torrent, which makes it difficult to use regular expressions that will work consistently. If you are unwilling to rename the files because you need to seed, so merely create symlinks for these files that have the proper naming convention and organization: http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=Vid...due south/TV_shows
You could attempt adding cleanstrings to your advancedsettings.xml.

Yup; that particular case should actually scrape correctly named as-is!
Yous cannot have files for multiple shows in a unmarried directory. The bare minimum you lot need is a folder per series.
The binder proper name volition be used to determine the show title,
The file proper noun will only be used to determine the season and episode number.
In that location'southward no getting effectually that (other than the symlink method artrafael mentioned).
Yeah if I were to torrent shows I would download them to an unsorted directory and manually movement them, so symlink them back to the download location for seeding. Quite a scrap of transmission work though.
You can use well-nigh torrent software to save directly to whatever binder you similar, for each file. Thus if you have ten running at the same time, they can be set to motion the item file to whatever binder of your choosing when completed
(they don't have to all exist in the same "imcompleted" and "completed" binder)
I'm thinking of using filebot along with transmission, should work in theory.
And filebot can be a problem, it'south written in a Coffee which is virtually certainly a no-no on a 256MB RAM RPi.

The only trouble is Transmission'south remote on Android doesn't have that option equally far as I can tell.

Yes and no, the torrent creator might have had all sorts of bizarre binder and file naming conventions, which can't actually be avoided.

Okay, I figurred out a solution. Basically going filebot route is the best option since it'll automatically sort the files in a construction which can easily be organised, but it'due south in Coffee and a resource pig (something which I don't have in RPi). And so I created a PHP script using TVDB and TMDB's APIs which'll do something similar and sort the tv set shows and movies, it seems to be working fine in a limited test case set that I tried it on. Ofcourse it'south far more basic than filebot, but it seems to get the chore washed for me. Everyone else interested?
EDIT:

Obviously WIP, has basic episode season/number detection and doesn't handle multipart episodes ATM.
WOW.. I have been using torrents as only source for years and now stumble upon this topic. Guys it really is NOT that difficult AT ALL! Transmission downloads all television set shows eps to its own television show folder, XBMC scans everything perfectly. I never do annihilation manually and I also dont mess with regular expressions. Renaming episode files is weird, I have not done this since I switched to a HTPC software (five yrs ago I merely used MPC-HC) and there is no demand for it.
If you lot use uTorrent you lot tin simply add a Characterization to the torrent you download, the label must have the boob tube show filename. In settings you lot tin set to movement downloaded files to a location with the label every bit its path. Easy peasy.
motility to: D:\
label (example): TV Shows\Game of Thrones
If y'all apply Transmission you are ofcourse using Flexget to automatically download tv shows once they become available so Flexget will give the correct location to download the file to Transmission. Flexget can piece of work with any rss feed or website (Sickbeard/couchpotato cannot and are more focused on nzb). And then you really practise not demand anything else, merely install Manual, install Flexget and use a practiced Config.yml. Either enter whatsoever goggle box testify you like in the config.yml or sign upwards with Trakt.television receiver (very user friendly) and add together tv shows to a custom list. Flexget will scan that listing to encounter what shows yous like to download and then look for those shows in the rss feeds. This way y'all never have to edit flexget config file anymore. Yous can add/remove goggle box shows you like to follow via the trakt.tv website
Hmmmm if I got torrents (did anyone say I did that s**t??) I'd prefer to have a good look around for a decent quality rip/encode and manually add it to my torrent customer in one case I found a decent one. Any tips on automating that?
